JUNE 2007—Representatives from four Belarusian NGOs absorbed information about FHI's extensive experience in HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness on their visit to the Arlington office May 24. Senior Technical Officer Emah Ekong had the pleasure of instructing the visitors about FHI's work through an interpreter. The NGOs work with youth, people with disabilities, disadvantaged children, and victims of domestic violence. One of the four—UNESCO Clubs—has conducted HIV prevention activities since 1998, most recently with assistance from the Global Fund. The visitors were invited to the United States by the Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program.
