As part of a joint venture, the Klaipeda Addiction Treatment Center and FHI's Baltic Sea Program performed a rapid situation assessment of sex workers (SW) in Klaipeda, the capital city of Lithuania during September 2003. The report Sex Work Situation in Klaipeda City, Lithuania Report on the Outcomes of the Rapid Situation Assessment Vilnius – Klaipeda, highlights the conditions and behaviors of sex workers, in particular STI and HIV infection rates, and the sex work norms as the exists between sex workers and their clients. Sex Work Situation in Klaipeda City also identifies local capacity for developing programs to restrict the spread of HIV infection among SWs and their clients. |
