FHI Works with Partners to Improve Knowledge of Family Planning among Providers and Clients in Nigeria

  • With Abt Associates, FHI is evaluating the introduction of a wellness care and preventive health services program (including family planning, malaria control and prevention, childhood immunization, and nutrition) to private health practices participating in a health maintenance organization (HMO). Our researchers are determining whether the program has improved HMO providers' knowledge and provision of wellness services and whether HMO clients are satisfied with these new services.

  • FHI is collaborating with Development Research and Project Centre (dRPC) in Kano, Nigeria to identify ways to improve family planning and child spacing among young married couples in northern Nigeria.
