Research

For more than three decades, FHI has worked with partners in the Philippines to improve family planning and reproductive health care. We have also provided technical assistance to help the Department of Health, local governmental units, and partners respond appropriately and effectively to the HIV epidemic.
More Research Highlights

  • FHI has evaluated the acceptability and introduction of contraceptive methods, including sterilization, IUDs, injectables, oral contraceptives, barrier methods, and the lactational amenorrhea method.

  • FHI has worked in the region to identify and reduce unnecessary medical barriers to contraceptive use.

  • FHI has provided technical assistance to the Department of Health regarding the development of educational materials and provider training to support the introduction and provision of contraceptive methods such as DMPA (depot-medroxyprogesterone acetate).
