DECEMBER 2008 — Family Health International (FHI) was a "bronze sponsor" of the 15th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA), which was held Dec. 3–7 in Dakar, Senegal. FHI led presentations and discussions, and also hosted two booths and displayed a number of posters.

AWARE-HIV/AIDS, 2003-2008 Closeout Report
JULY 2008 — This document was produced for the project's closeout workshop in Accra, Ghana, on July 14 and 15. It describes what AWARE-HIV/AIDS did to strengthen the response to the epidemic in West and Central Africa between 2003 and 2008. In addition to a foreword by Henderson Patrick, Mission Director of USAID/West Africa, the document contains chapters on promoting policy change and best practices, building the capacities of West African institutions and networks, cross-border interventions to reduce HIV transmission and infection among mobile populations, and the support provided by the project for the West African Ambassador's Fund.

Promising and Best Practices in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care for West and Central Africa
JANUARY 2006 — This collection, published by AWARE-HIV/AIDS, describes 19 best and promising practices in STI/HIV/AIDS prevention and care that were selected by expert taskforces brought together by the project. The best practices originated in West and Central Africa in the following areas: behavior change communication, voluntary counseling and testing, reduction of sexually transmitted infections, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, care and treatment, advocacy for policy change, and community financing models for combating HIV/AIDS.
