COH II Helps Women Protect Health, Safety

FEBRUARY 2009 — Corridors of Hope outreach workers are helping women who have crossed the border from Zimbabwe in search of money to feed their families. They meet with the women to hold "Reflect" discussions, helping the women—some of whom have turned to sex work—deal with issues that concern them. The women are learning safer sex practices and have formed a support group to help each other keep safe.

Caring for Pregnant Women with HIV
SEPTEMBER 2008 — In February 2006, ZPCT embarked on a groundbreaking effort to test CD4 counts and provide complex antiretroviral regimens for pregnant women seeking prevention of mother-to-child transmission services at their community health centers. More HIV+ expectant mothers who visit primary health centers supported by FHI are having their CD4 counts tested and more are going on lifesaving HAART as a result.

FEBRUARY 2009 — Corridors of Hope II (COH II) has published two documents that guide systematic programming that promotes behavior change and social mobilization on the community and individual levels. The publications are titled Reflect Methodology and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Tools Guide and Behavior Change and Social Mobilization Strategy.
