Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) through a five-year cooperative agreement, the Regional Outreach Addressing AIDS through Development Strategies (ROADS) Project began in August 2005. The project is designed to reduce HIV transmission, improve care, and reduce the impact of HIV and AIDS along major transport corridors in East Africa.
Objectives
Link mobile populations and communities along transport corridors to prevention, care, treatment and support services
Share state-of-the-art practices
Test innovations through pilot programs
Strategies and Activities
ROADS acts as a catalyst for change by working with communities, national AIDS programs, regional institutions and donors to identify and prioritize unmet needs in the region. Learn more about ROADS initiatives on the East Africa regional page.
