FHI Partners with Faith-based Organizations in Nigeria

DECEMBER 2003 — Faith-based organizations (FBOs) play a critical role in serving and advocating for people living with HIV/AIDS

and their families, so partnering with these groups is essential in efforts to prevent the spread of HIV, provide psychosocial and clinical care, and fight the second epidemic of stigma.

With funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), FHI has been partnering with FBOs on HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support activities since 1991.

The clip below spotlights the HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support activities of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria.

Funding is provided by USAID through the IMPACT project, managed by FHI. The clip is an excerpt from HIV/AIDS in Nigeria: Working to Expand the Response, a 32-minute documentary produced by FHI in 2003.

Downloading the clip takes approximately one minute.
