USAID has awarded Family Health International (FHI) and its partners a five-year contract under USAID's Project SEARCH (Supporting Evaluation and Research to Combat HIV/AIDS).
Project SEARCH is a multiple-award indefinite quantity contract (IQC), a funding mechanism that helps USAID Missions and Bureaus access research expertise to answer critical questions surrounding HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment. As one of five prime contractors under Project SEARCH, FHI and its team can address country-specific research needs and build in-country capacity for research through its combined expertise in key areas, including:
- Designing and implementing research projects
- Disseminating research results and putting them into practice
- Developing the technical skills of local researchers
- Transferring knowledge to in-country institutions
- Collaborating with in-country public health officials and policymakers
