Client-Provider Interaction |
FHI has worked with hundreds of national and international organizations, including the World Health Organization and the U.S. Agency for International Development, to improve the quality of reproductive and sexual health services. Positive interactions between clients and providers are a crucial component of such services.
Providers well trained in counseling can help clients make their own informed decisions and improve client satisfaction with and use of family planning and STI/HIV prevention methods. For services to be most effective, providers should offer the method that clients want, treat clients well, individualize each session, be interactive and responsive to clients' questions, avoid information overload, and provide memory aids.
